My family has been to Kanchanaburi in February this year.
Most people stay in downtown of Kanchanaburi but we wanted more quiet place. So we decided to stay in Saiyoke area which is 60km away north from downtown.
DAY1 in Saiyoke,Kanchanaburi

As you see on this photo, Pungwan resort is very extensive. So it's so quiet as we wish. :)

This is spacious swimming pool. There were only 2 people at that time.

The interior is pretty good for me and kept clean as well.
The restaurant was a little bit expensive but delicious and every staffs were kind.
The price was about 200~300baht per person.

We dropped by an elephant farm. It's very close to the resort.
DAY2 in Erawan National Park, Kanchanaburi

Breakfast is western style buffet. It was nice.

We started to Erawan National Park in the morning. This National Park has 7 steps waterfalls and some natural swimming pool for each waterfall.
Unique and special thing of this National Park is the doctor fishes on the lagoons. There are so many fishes and they do not stop eating something on our feet! I encourage you to go to the 7th waterfall because it has most beautiful sight.

This is 7th waterfall.

DAY3 in Saiyoke(boat riding), Kanchanaburi
Normally, it starts on the resort but the speed of water was so fast that we should go upper area. It's really calm and easy to ride. It took about 2hrs and we paid 300baht per person. This day trip is possible to book on the resort anytime.

On the way back home, we stopped in the Floating restaurant near the bridge kwai.
It was not as good as impressed but ok.

Kanchanaburi is less than 200km from Bangkok but has many things to do and beautiful sight. I wish to visit there once more!
Here is the movie that I took in Kanchanaburi.
